Privacy Policy
This policy explains how RUKNO handles information submitted through our public website, school platform, and mobile applications (Family, Staff, and Transport).

Information we receive
We receive school and contact details submitted for demonstrations, trials, subscriptions, support, and account administration. When a school uses RUKNO, the platform also processes information that authorized school users enter or generate through school operations, including account credentials, school records, notifications, and — in the Transport app — device LOCATION data as described below.
Location data
LOCATION data is accessed by the RUKNO Transport mobile app. The app collects approximate and precise location (GPS coordinates, speed, heading, and accuracy) from authorized transport staff devices only while a school trip is active, so the school can operate the route and share the live bus position with transport operations and authorized family members. Location collection continues in the background after the user leaves the app or locks the screen until the trip is ended; a persistent notification stays visible while tracking. Location is not collected when no trip is running. The Family and Staff apps do not access device LOCATION data. Location is not used for advertising, sold to third parties, or shared with map or analytics vendors. Coordinates are sent to RUKNO servers for the school's transport service and retained according to the school agreement, operational needs, and applicable law.
School-controlled data
The subscribing school determines why school records are entered and who may access them. RUKNO processes that data to provide the contracted service and does not use student records for advertising.
How information is used
We use information to respond to enquiries, provide and secure the platform, authenticate users, support school workflows including live school transport, communicate service notices, diagnose faults, and meet contractual or legal obligations.
Sharing and service providers
Information may be handled by infrastructure and communication providers that help us operate RUKNO, including hosting, email, and push notifications. Live trip LOCATION data is shared only with the school's authorized transport staff and with authorized family members of students on that trip. Access is limited to what is necessary for the service. We may also disclose information where required by law or to protect users and the platform.
Data retention
We retain public enquiries only as long as needed for sales follow-up and business records. School data, including operational trip location, is retained according to the school agreement, operational backup cycles, and applicable legal requirements, then deleted or returned as agreed where reasonably possible.
Security
RUKNO uses access controls, audit visibility, encrypted transport, and operational safeguards appropriate to the service. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, and this policy does not claim a certification that has not been independently awarded.
Contact, rights, and account deletion
Schools and individuals may contact hello@rukno.com to ask about their information, request correction, request account deletion, or raise a privacy concern. Account deletion is processed through the school and RUKNO because educational, safeguarding, financial, and audit records may need to be retained by law; we do not promise immediate erasure of those records. Requests involving school-controlled records may be referred to the relevant school for authorization.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service or legal requirements change. The effective date on this page identifies the current public version.
